Wanted Criminal Searches
Several
public databases exist for the purpose of locating fugitives
and informing the general public about wanted criminals and
offenders.
Almost
every law enforcment agency (as well as some other public
government services) has their own database of wanted people.
Some even often offer financial rewards for providing information
or assistance which may lead to the arrest of the listed fugitives.
We've
included every major "wanted" search below in the
nationwide sources, but to look up -
a)
Local/county wanted criminals who aren't as "high profile"
as the nationwide or international fugitives, or
b)
Delinquent sex offenders
- you'll need to select a state from the statewide resources
and then locate the appropriate agency site(s) for that state.
Nationwide
Wanted Fugitives Resources:
|
FBI
Most Wanted Fugitives
- The most notorious fugitives, criminals & terrorists
who are of interest to the FBI.
FBI
High-Profile Case Dockets
- Summarized dockets of actual FBI records, compiled
by an independant researcher. Also includes details
on how to obtain your own FBI "rap sheet",
so to speak.
DEA
Most Wanted Database
- Large database of currently wanted persons under investigation
by the Drug Enforcement Agency of the US Dept. of Justice.
ATF
Most-Wanted Fugitives
- The ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives)
has a small but interesting list of wanted criminals.
US
Marshals 15 Most Wanted Fugitives
- Like the ATF, another small but interesting roster
of criminals wanted by the US Marshals.
US
Postal Service Most Wanted
- Index of wanted criminals in connection with mail
fraud, mail bombings, wire fraud, money laundering and
other related offenses.
US
NAVY Most Wanted
- Index of wanted military personnel who are wanted
by the US NAVY. The most common offenses are desertion
and larceny.
Secret
Service's Most Wanted
- The SS has an index of wanted fugitives, mostly related
to counterfeiting and fraud.
USAF
Most Wanted
- Directory of persons wanted by the US Air Force. Mostly
related to desertion.
US
Department of Justice - "Rewards for Justice"
- The DOJ has a "referral program" for informants
and citizens to come forward and provide any information
they may know about a listed fugitive wanted by the
DOJ. There are substantial financial incentives (several
million dollars in some cases) for providing information
leading the arrest of a wanted fugitive.
US
Immigration & Customs Enforcement Agency - Wanted
Persons
- A database of US fugitives and criminal aliens wanted
by the ICE.
TV
Show: "Americas Most Wanted" Online Archive
- The famous TV Show also provides its entire archive
of wanted criminals online. This is, not surprisingly,
the most comprehensive nationwide database of fugitives
online today.
